Flood in Raichur, Karnataka- Floods has caused havoc in the southern states of Kerala and Karnataka. The most devastation is in Kerala where nearly 100 people have died and more than 100 people are missing.
Karnataka is also not left untouched by the floods, nearly 60 people have died. And amidst this news of the catastrophe, there was a video from Raichur in Karnataka which is an example for humanity. The video is of a 12-year-old child. He is surrounded by floods all around. The water is up to his waist. Even then, he is moving forward by falling. Because an ambulance has to pass on the path indicated by the same. In which some people bring out the ambulance stuck in the flood.
The name of this 12-year-old child is Venkatesh from Hirena Nagpur in Raichur district and falls in the sixth class. In a government school. His father is a farmer and his farms. 10 August when he was playing with his friends. So he saw an ambulance stuck in the flood. This ambulance belonged to Parthna Ambulance Service.
He asked the driver and his companions to help evacuate the ambulance from the flooded route, or suggest some other way through which the ambulance could be evacuated. But there was no other way and the flood was such that the bridge over the river was also submerged. No one was able to understand the way. Venkatesh told the driver that he followed him. He showed the ambulance the way and then the ambulance could be taken out of the flood.
The Deputy Director and Public Instruction have told that Venkatesh showed the path to the ambulance stuck in the flood and took it out that the ambulance had a body of a woman and it had 6 children. When the ambulance driver revealed the name and address of the child, the deputy administrator started looking for him so that he could be honored. But the child was not found in his village. Because his village was also in the grip of the flood. And from there all the people were removed and taken to a safe wake.
12-year-old Venkatesh was also present in the relief school built in the savant vera government high primary school. The district administration honored him on the occasion of 15 August and now his name is being sent for a bravery award. The Secretary of the Labor Department has said that she has recommended the Women Commission Development Ministry to give the bravery award to Venkatesh. And this is not the first time that Venkatesh has saved someone’s life.
2 years ago, when Venkatesh was 10 years old, he saved the life of a woman submerged in water. And Venkatesh is like before, he is saying that he did not even know that what he has done is a great work, he has just helped. And that was his duty.
